  The federal government is set to implement five per cent inclusive excise duty on telecommunications services in Nigeria, a move that will make Nigerians pay 12.5 per cent tax on telecommunications services. Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed made the announcement on Thursday July 28, at a stakeholders’ forum on implementation of excise duty on telecommunications services in Nigeria.  Speaking at the event organized by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Ahmed who was represented by the Assistant Chief Officer of the Ministry, Frank Oshanipin, said the five per cent excise duty has been in the Finance Act 2020 but was not implemented. The delay in its implementation according to the Minister, was as a result of government’s engagement with stakeholders.   APC Senator, Abbo backs move to impeach Buhari, gives reason Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Ishaku Elisha Abbo, has backed the move to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari. Abbo said he fully supports the impeachment move against Buhari. On Wednesday, Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and some of the opposition walked out of a Senate plenary session. Nigeria Air To Borrow Aircraft To Begin Operations The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has given an approval to Nigeria Air to lease aircraft to enable it start operations as country’s national carrier. Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, said this on Wednesday while briefing State House Corespondents after the FEC meeting chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the nation’s capital. 62-year-old herbalist arrested for allegedly raping minor   The Adamawa State Police Command on Saturday, July 23, apprehended a 62 years old man for allegedly raping a 14 years old minor in Zagun village, Numan local government area. A 22-year-old woman had no idea she was pregnant until she went to the toilet, thinking she had a stomach ache, and saw a baby in the toilet bowl when she tried to flush. Lucy Jones, a trainee flight attendant thought her stomach ache was period pain after feeling unwell back in March. But while in bed the next morning, the 22-year-old said her tummy "flipped" and she dashed to the loo.
