HOW IMPORTANT DO YOU THINK SEX IS TO OUR LIVES? First, what do we mean by sex? I'm not talking of that short period of time, the few minutes during which sex partners are in bed together and one of them is penetrated by the other. My idea of sex is much broader than that.  When I talk about sex, I include our consciousness of the presence or near presence or absence of the opposit sex. It covers our entire knowledge of the presence or absence of the opposite sex.  To give you an idea how broad the subject of sex is, let me borrow from Wikipedia. BREAKING: Nigeria at high risk of Ebola – NCDC warns The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has said that Nigeria is at high risk of Ebola virus disease following the outbreak of the disease in Uganda. The NCDC, in a release on Tuesday, signed by its Director-General, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa, stated that it was on high alert, adding that “the likelihood of importation of the disease to Nigeria is high due to the increased air travel between Nigeria and Uganda, especially through Kenya’s Nairobi airport, a regional transport hub, and other neighbouring countries that share a direct border with Uganda.” According to the NCDC, the ongoing outbreak of Ebola virus disease was caused by the Sudan strain of the Ebola virus in Uganda as declared on September 20, 2022.

The Ethiopian government ban visa on arrival for Nigerians. Stakeholders said the ban which took effect on Tuesday October 4, would create some hiccups in travel to Ethiopia. Daily Trust reported that the management of Ethiopian Airlines, the national airline of Ethiopia, had informed travel partners of the new development. Prior to the said ban, the passengers travelling to Ethiopia or transiting through the country from Nigeria could easily obtain a visa on arrival (VOA) on getting to Bole International Airport, Addis-Ababa. According to the publication, a memo sent by Ethiopian Airlines to travel partners read;  “Please be informed that effective immediate No More Visa on Arrival for Nigerian citizens. “Passengers are to obtain their visa at the Ethiopian Embassy in Abuja before traveling. The Director General of the council, Segun Runsewe, made the appeal during an investigative hearing by an ad hoc committee of the House on Tuesday, October 4. There is a bill in the House seeking to amend Same-Sex (Prohibition) Act to prohibit cross-dressing in Nigeria. The amendment, sponsored by Muda Umar (APC, Bauchi), seeks to amend sections 4 and 5 of the principal act. The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria is suing Meta Platforms Incorporated (owners of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp platforms) and its agent AT3 Resources Limited]  for violation of the advertising laws and loss of revenue.   The suit was filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division.   According to a statement on Tuesday by the apex regulatory body for Nigeria’s advertising ecosystem, ARCON is seeking a declaration among others that the continued publication and exposure of various advertisements directed at the Nigerian market through Facebook and Instagram platforms by Meta Platforms Incorporated without ensuring the same is vetted and approved before exposure is illegal, unlawful and a violation of the extant advertising Law in Nigeria.   ARCON stated that Meta Platforms Incorporated’s continued exposure of unvetted adverts had also led to loss of revenue to the Federal Government.   ARCON is seeking N30bn in sanction for the violation...
