President Bola Tinubu has warned the presidential elections tribunal that removing him as president could lead to a breakdown of law and order in Nigeria.

President Bola Tinubu has allegedly warned members of the presidential elections tribunal that removing him as president could lead to a breakdown of law and order in Nigeria. Peoples Gazzette reports that the President's counsel, Wole Olanipekun, said this in his final defense presented to the tribunal where Tinubu's victory in the February 25, 2023 Presidential election is being challenged by PDP's Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.  “Any other interpretation different from this will lead to absurdity, chaos, anarchy and alteration of the very intention of the legislature,” President Tinubu’s lawyers led by Wole Olanipekun reportedly said in their final defense statement to the court   The lawyers were specifically addressing a section of the Nigerian Constitution that said a presidential candidate must score 25 per cent of votes in two-thirds of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, or Abuja. The President's legal team said courts have...

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) approves 12 years tenure for bank (CEO)

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) approves 12 years tenure for bank (CEO)  The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has approved a new corporate governance code stating that the tenure of a bank’s managing director or chief executive officer (CEO) can only last 12 years. The country’s apex bank disclosed this in a 96-page circular posted during the weekend on its website. According to the circular signed by Chibuzo Efobi, the financial policy and regulation department director emphasised that only one member of an extended family can be CEO/MD/Chairman or Executive Director at any time. Recall that CBN had said bank executives could only serve a cumulative tenure of 20 years across the banking sector. However, CBN’s new regulation slashed the tenure of banks’ managing directors to a maximum of 12 years. Signs that show your partner is losing interest in you.

There is no perfect relationship. In the close to perfect relationships, there are no two persons who share exact same values. A relationship or marriage is a world of two contrasting people who, despite their differences, strive to make things right among themselves.  If your relationship is one with enduring and tolerance – tolerance could be of red flags – then you need to have a rethink. You might be in a situationship.  No one has the right to treat you less human. You are more amazing than you give yourself credit for. Here are ways to know your partner is losing interest in you: 1. They barely want to spend time with you: They always give excuses as to why they need to be away from you. 2. They forget little details they once sang to you: Details could be your anniversary dates, birthdays, and other important dates that mattered to the both of you. 3. They are always overprotective of their personal things. When a partner becomes secretive to a point of denying a...

The Black Death (Bubonic Plague).

Throughout history people have suffered hard times, sicknesses, pandemics and draughts. Some mishaps have been blamed on man's chaotic and unwilling nature. Religious people have believed and still believe that man's suffering is a sort of punishment from the gods and spiritual beings. The Black death was a devastating pandemic that hit Europe and Asia in the mid 1300's. It is said to be the most fatal pandemic ever recorded in history, sweeping over 25 million people. This plague was believed to have been caused by the infection with the bacterium Yersinia Pestis. Other sources believe it was caused by a viral infection. The consequences of this plague were many. It halted wars, trade, affected both nobility and the common man. Symptoms of this plague included high fevers and swellings (buboes). Jews were blamed for the bubonic plague, perhaps because Jews carried FMF (familial Mediterranean fever)  mutations and died at lower rates than other people. As a result antis...
