Abia Governor Alex Otti has revealed that ransoms paid for kidnapped victims were always dropped off around the Umuchieze Cattle Market in Lokpanta of Umunneochi Local Government Area.  In less than 48 hours, over 80 dead bodies and 20 headless decomposing bodies were recovered. The governor expressed the state government's resolve to rid Abia of all forms of crime and stated that the government would neither condone nor support insecurity in any form.  Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the people involved in the crime and informed the decision to change the cattle market into a general market.  The state government has taken steps to secure the market by fencing it and issuing a directive to be a non-residential daily market.

River State House of Assembly Allegedly Set On Fire Over Impeachment Threat Against Governor Fubara  There is tension in PortHarcourt, the River state capital as the House of Assembly has been burnt down in a strange inferno that happened late Sunday. Hoodlums had invaded the complex at about 9:45pm which is a stone throw to the Headquarters of the Police command in the state. Before the hoodlums were dislodged, the hoodlums had set the main chamber of the Assembly complex on fire. It was also gathered that the hoodlums had used hand grenades to cause an explosion in the building before the fire started. This claim could not be independently verified.
