ONDO: Governor Akeredolu Sacks Deputy Gov’s Media Team, Press Crew Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has sacked the media team of Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. Akeredolu returned to Nigeria last week after a three-month medical leave, during which Aiyedatiwa stood in as the acting governor. Meanwhile, there have been reports of a cold war between Akeredolu and Aiyedatiwa, but the deputy governor has denied it. A statement issued by Olabode Richard Olatunde, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor on Tuesday, said all the media aides appointed by the governor and seconded to the office of the deputy governor had been relieved of their duties. EFCC: Court Sentence George Turnah, Two Others, Six Years Jail Terms over N2.9 billion Fraud    Justice A. T. Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has convicted and sentenced a former Special Adviser to Dan Abia, erstwhile managing director of Niger Delta Development Commission, George Turnah, and two others: Ebis Orubebe and Uzorgor Silas Chidebere, to six  years imprisonment for obtaining money under false pretence, money laundering, conversion of funds and forgery contrary to Section 1 (1) (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act.   They were jailed on Thursday, September 7, 2023, having been found guilty of charges preferred against them by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.   The defendants were originally arraigned by the EFCC in May, 2017 and re- arraigned on January 25, 2021 on 23- coun...
