Ex-NNPP National Chairman, Kaduna Guber Candidate Join APC

Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali. a former national chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Senator Sulaiman Othman Hunkuyi, candidate of the NNPP in the March 18 governorship election in Kaduna State, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). National chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, received them into the party today.

HOUSE OF REPS COMMENDS GOV OTTI FOR RESTORING SECURITY, DISMANTLING CRIMINAL HIDEOUTS IN ABIA

The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Security in Umunneochi, Abia State, has commended Governor Alex Otti for the positive steps he has taken to restore security and order in the state. The Committee particularly praised Governor Otti for dismantling the kidnapping operations and other criminal activities which had festered at the Lokpanta Cattle Market area of Umunneochi, along the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba Expressway. The Committee led by Hon. Obi Aguocha, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North/South Federal Constituency, rising from its interactive sessions with security agencies, traditional rulers and other stakeholders from Umunneochi, had visited Governor Otti on Saturday to brief him on the outcome of their findings as well as hear from him.  Some of the Committee members, who spoke during the visit, recounted their encounters with those they interacted with during a townhall meeting held in the course of the Committee's assignment.  Said Hon. Abia Govt Seal,withdraws Operational license of Emerald School Aba for operating below Standard.

Abia State Ministry of Education wishes to inform the general public that Emerald Schools located at Crystal Park Avenue, Off Port Harcourt Road, Aba in Aba South LGA has been sealed and its operational approval withdrawn. This is as a result of the Ministry's findings which showed that the said school was operating below the stipulated standards set for the operation of private schools in the State, a situation which led to the umfortunate death of a pupil. Parents/ guardians whose children/ wards attend the school, are advised to withdraw them without further delay. While the Ministry regrets any Inconvenience this may cause parents, it will continue to shoulder its responsibility of upholding the welfare and safety of Abia children as a top priority. Any illegal attemp by any individual or group to reopen the school will attract the full wrath of the government.  Please be properly guided.
