  At least three out of the 13 delegates from Mariga Local government Areas of Niger State for the governorship primaries have been allegedly killed by bandits. It was learnt that the incident occurred between Mariga and Tegina and the three persons were shot dead on the spot in an ambush by the Bandits on Wednesday. They were killed on their way back to Mariga after the party postponed the primaries to obtain their means of identification, following a protest by some of the aspirants who were not comfortable with the delegates list. Subsequently, delegates were asked to return home and bring their means of identification and the primaries shifted to Thursday. EFCC Arrests Nine Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Benin City Operatives of the EFCC Benin Zonal Command, on Tuesday May 24, 2022 arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City. The suspects: Makata Lucky, Samson Shakore, Ase Daniel, Osamwonu Terry, Moses Nosa, Makata John, Mataka James, Eze Solomon and Emmanuel Noghase were arrested at their hideout following actionable intelligence. Items recovered from them at the point of arrest inlude mobile phones and two cars (Lexus 330EX and Accura MDX).

He deceived her that he was taking her to his house in Kano but she shouldn't tell anyone as he wanted to surprise them there in Kano. Lo and behold, the girl agreed. He ordered that, she should go and bring out her bag, fortunately, her brother saw her and asked where she was going to and she told him that their uncle is taking her to Kano. However, after sometimes of not seeing the girl, a search has begun and in the course of looking for her, her brother said, he saw her and this was what she told him. Hence, the Uncle was arrested and interrogated but denied the allegations. So, he was released on bail. Therefore, when he was under bail he called his friend from Jos to come and complete the job for him to collect some millions from her parents. But the guy was so furious after knowing that the girl was his niece. So the uncle gave him the number he'd call to demand a ransom....

T he people of Idi-Arere community in Ibadan, Oyo State, were in shock on Saturday when they discovered the corpse of a resident, Alhaji Kolawole Waheed, with vital organs of his body missing. Punch Metro gathered that Waheed died last Thursday and was buried on Friday according to Islamic rites. The deceased’s brother, Taofeek Adebayo, said the 68-year-old was hit by a car while inside a tricycle, adding that he was later taken to a hospital where he died three days after. “On Saturday morning, an older brother called my wife’s phone. He told me some people had removed Waheed’s he@d. I rushed down there and discovered that they also removed his hand and intestines. “Three houses surround the gr@ve and everyone said they didn’t know anything about it,” he added. T he EFCC, Makurdi Zonal Command, has arraigned one Amaka Oranuka before Justice Abdu Dogo of the Federal High Court sitting in Makurdi, Benue State. She was docked on two-count charges bordering on obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N10, 347, 000.00 (Ten Million, Three Hundred and Forty Seven Thousand Naira). Oranuka, allegedly offered to sell two IX25 Hyundai SUV cars, worth N15,000,000.00( Fifteen Million Naira) to a petitioner , who claimed that he made a total deposit of N12,293,000.000( Twelve Million, Two Hundred and Ninety Three Thousand Naira) in instalments into her bank account, but after payments, no such cars were delivered to him and all efforts to recover his money proved abortive.

T he Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has disclosed that the seized assets belonging to former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke would be disposed of and sold except for those being contested. This was disclosed by the EFCC in a Twitter Spaces conversation titled  “Recovered Assets: Where are the monies?”  on Wednesday evening.       Abba Kyari Escapes Murder In Prison, Considered For SSS Custody Prison officials are considering moving suspended police officer Abba Kyari to the custody of the State Security Service (SSS) from the Kuje prison after he nearly got murdered by aggrieved inmates, who accused him of insincerity in bribe-for-release deals when he was in active service,Visblog.ng has learned. According to internal documents and officials accessed by Premium Times, the attack happened on May 4, months after Mr Kyari, who is on trial for drug-related offences, was remanded. His attackers were about 190, an official said, and they are mostly in prison for drug offences.
