ALMIGHTY AMERICA.πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Independence Day is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the Declaration of Independence, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America. In the early stages of the revolutionary movement in the colonies during the 1760s and early ’70s, patriots used such celebrations to proclaim their resistance to Parliament’s legislation while lauding King George III as the real defender of English liberties. However, the marking of the first days of independence during the summer of 1776 actually took the form in many towns of a mock funeral for the king, whose “death” symbolized the end of monarchy and tyranny and the rebirth of liberty. Before the declaration, America was part of the Kingdom of Great Britain (now called the United Kingdom). In the 1600s, people came from Great Britain to settle in what is now North America. Between 1607 and 1732, the British founded 13 colonies: Virginia, New York, Massa...

From ANGELOU.πŸ’•

"When I was 16, a boy in high school evinced interest in me, so I had sex with him — just once. And after I came out of that room, I thought, Is that all there is to it? My goodness, I’ll never do that again! Then, when I found out I was pregnant, I went to the boy and asked him for help, but he said it wasn’t his baby and he didn’t want any part of it. I was scared to pieces. Back then, if you had money, there were some girls who got abortions, but I couldn’t deal with that idea. Oh, no. No. I knew there was somebody inside me. So I decided to keep the baby. My older brother, Bailey, my confidant, told me not to tell my mother or she’d take me out of school. So I hid it the whole time with big blouses! Finally, three weeks before I was due, I left a note on my stepfather’s pillow telling him I was pregnant. He told my mother, and when she came home, she calmly asked me to run her bath. I’ll never forget what she said: “Now tell me this — do you love the boy?” I said ...

Peter Obi’s media team speaks on report of his son ‘stepping’ on Nigerian flag The media office of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has debunked the claim that his son, Oseloka Obi stepped on Nigeria’s flag. A Twitter user identified as OfficialPigo had claimed that Obi’s son dressed in an IPOB t-shirt stood on the Nigeria flag. The tweet reads, “Oseloka Obi, Peter Obi’s son, standing on Nigeria Flag and putting on IPOB T-Shirt. Today, his dad wants to be President of Nigeria.” Obi’s media house while reacting to the post described it as an act of desperation by the opposition. Joyce Tukura Facebook Connection challenge.

Most of you know me very well. I don't accept many friends as i feel uncomfortable with that. Almost every FB friend i have known on some level, or we share some common ground, you are not just a number. Basically if you are on my FB it's because we have some connection- some point of commonality. Now i would love to see if we can still chat beyond 'likes'. I decided to participate in an experience called "Meeting between Bread". The idea is to see who reads a post without a photo. We are so consumed with technology that we forget the most important thing: good friendship- genuine connection- valued engagement. If no one is reading this message, it will be a short social experiment. But if you finish this till the end, i would love you to comment in one word about us. For example, a place, an object, a person, a moment in which you remember me or that some how connects us. Then copy this post and post it on your page (don't share) and I'll go to your...
