Pregnancy Dispute Tears Marriage Apart as Man Allegedly Lures Wife From Australia

A marital dispute has sparked intense debate after a Nigerian man allegedly lured his wife back from Australia under the pretext that his parents were celebrating their wedding anniversary.  According to reports, once the woman arrived in Nigeria, her husband confiscated her travel documents and phone before abandoning her. His justification, sources say, was her refusal to carry a pregnancy. The wife reportedly told him she did not want to experience pregnancy herself and suggested surrogacy as an alternative.  The couple married in 2022, and the woman relocated abroad in 2024. The disagreement over childbirth appears to have deepened after the relocation. The man has since declared the marriage over, insisting that if his wife is unwilling to carry a pregnancy, he would rather end the union and eventually marry someone who is willing to do so. In response, the man’s family has reportedly begun the process of returning the bride price (dowry), stating that their son does not...

The State Assembly has abruptly shelved its planned sitting after reports surfaced that some lawmakers were plotting to remove Speaker Martin Amaewhule. It appears that those who were busy threatening impeachment yesterday are suddenly tasting a bit of their own medicine today. When you play politics of fear and loyalty tests, there’s always a day your own camp begins to whisper. The Speaker who once bragged about “having the numbers” is now watching those same numbers scatter like students in an exam hall. Many lawmakers are reportedly tired of being used as attack dogs in a war that has no clear reward except embarrassment. Meanwhile, Governor Fubara looks unbothered, almost enjoying the movie as camps clash, alliances shift, and Wike’s political students begin to question the scripts they were given. Rivers politics is no longer chess. It has becom...
