Folake Abiola, an accountant with GLO commits suicide in Lekki.

A n Accountant with one of Nigeria’s leading Communication Companies, Folake Abiola committed suicide on Saturday, May 28 2022, by ingesting Sniper. She was described as a kind person, who was professional and good at her job. Folake was said to have shown little sign of depression lately and was encouraged to seek help by her colleagues until she decided to end her life in her Lekki apartment. The deceased was unmarried, not in a relationship but active in Church activities. Reports say her remains have been deposited at an undisclosed morgue in Lekki while the Police Authorities have commenced investigation into the veracity of the suicide claim. EFCC Nab 2 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja

  E FCC Arrests 2 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja Operatives of the EFCC on Thursday, May 26, 2022, arrested two (2) susp ected internet fraudsters at Number 6, Blue Street, Festrut Estate, Katampe, Abuja. The suspects who are alleged to be involved in internet-related fraud are: 20-year-old Kelvin Tobe Igbdamaeze and 18 years old Ejimiyerakpor Samson. They were arrested based on some verified intelligence on their alleged criminal activities. Items recovered from them include two iPhone 11 Pro Max, two MacBook pro, IPhone 13 Pro Max, two gold wrist watches and a Mercedes Benz GLE 2017 model.

  E x-Staff of OAGF, Charles Aiyeyi, Jailed One Year in Lagos Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on Friday, May 27, 2022, convicted and sentenced one Charles Aiyeyi, a former staff in the Office of the Auditor-General for the Federation, OAGF, who was prosecuted by the Lagos Command of the EFCC, to one year in prison for making false statement to a public (EFCC) officer with intent to pervert the course of justice. Aiyeyi, 66, alongside one Friday Itsede, was arraigned by the EFCC on a two-count charge for their involvement in the stalling of the trial of one Jerome Itepu, Chief Executive Officer, Omo-Jay Nigeria Limited.

Court refuses to grant Detained Presidential Aspirant, Okorocha, Bail

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Friday, refused to grant bail to Rochas Okorocha , who is currently in the custody of the anti-corruption agency, EFCC. Justice Inyang Ekwo, instead, ordered Mr Okorocha, through his lawyer, Ola Olanipekun, to put the anti-graft agency on notice. Olanipekun had, in an ex-parte motion marked FHC/ABJ/CR/28/2022, prayed the court to grant Mr Okorocha bail on liberal terms pending the hearing and determination of motion on notice filed on May 25  The ex-parte motion was dated and filed May 26.    But Justice Ekwo held that since the matter would be coming up on Monday, making an order for the release of the lawmaker on bail would be unnecessary. The senior lawyer also hinted that he had also filed a motion on notice, seeking for his client’s bail. The judge, who fixed May 30 for the hearing of the motions, directed the lawyer to put the EFCC on notice.   L iverpool forward, Sadio Mane has distanced himself from the ‘revenge’ mentality put forward by his teammate, Mohamed Salah ahead of their UEFA Champions final tie against Real Madrid on Saturday in Paris. Salah has repeatedly stated that he is poised for revenge against Real Madrid come May 28 after he limped off injured in the 2018 showpiece against the same opponents. Real Madrid won that game 3-1 to lift the trophy and Salah feels the result was due to a strong tackle from Sergio Ramos.
