Stop Luring Muslims to Christian Programmes – MURIC warns Lagos Govt, attacks Oyakhilome. The Lagos State Chapter of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called on the education authorities in Lagos State to desist from luring innocent and unsuspecting Muslim students across the state to church programmes under the guise of fake humanitarian schemes. Chairman, MURIC Lagos Chapter, Dr. Busari Muhammad Jamiu Ademola, in a statement bemoaned the attitude of the officers of the ministry of education in luring students to the programmes through official invitation. He said: “We are deeply worried by the incessant luring of innocent Muslim students to church programmes, particularly that of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. The programme, as reliably investigated, is sponsored by the cleric, who in conjunction with the officials of the Lagos State ministry of education, arranged the transportation of students to the venue. Tinubu Meets Ruto Ahead Of COP28 Climate Summit President Bola Tinubu has met with Kenya's President, William Ruto, ahead of the opening session of the World Climate Action Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.  Tinubu also met the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte.  This was disclosed in a tweet by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale,  on his X handle (formerly Twitter) on Friday, December 1.  The president departed for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday, November 29 to attend the event also known as the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference, or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP28).  His tweet read, "H.E. GUNMEN ATTACK KOGI RESIDENCE ELECTORAL COMMISSIONER HOUSE. In the early hours of today, Friday 1st December 2023, around 3.30am, gunmen attacked the residence Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) house  in Lokoja, Kogi State. The armed men engaged the security personnel in a gun battle for over 30 minutes until reinforcement arrived.  While no lives were lost, property was destroyed in the ensuing gun battle.  A team of combined security personnel have been deployed to protect the residence.This incident occurred a day after a mob besieged our state office.
