Chimobi Ezenwa, an Igbo man whose mansion said to be worth N300 million was demolished in Lagos, says he is now homeless. The Lagos State Government recently commenced the destruction of houses said to be in contravention of Lagos masterplan and quite interestingly, majority of these houses only belong to Igbo people. Residents in the Abule Ado area of the state were filmed hurriedly removing their belongings after being given a 2 hours grace before demolition commences. In a video trending on social media, one of those affected by the demolition said his house was pulled down without prior notice. He said: “My name is Chimobi Ezenwa and I am one of the victims of the ongoing demolition here in Abule Ado, Lagos. “This is my property, it has been demolished and there was no notice before encroaching on my property and destroying it. Even if I didn’t have an FHA (Federal Housing Authorities) allocation, if they asked me to pay for reclaiming of the land, I was ready to pay.”

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has accused Governor Simi Fubara of Rivers State of disobeying President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. Wike said Fubara disobeyed the directive from Tinubu and Shettima to resolve the political crisis in Rivers State. In a media chat, the minister accused Fubara of destroying the political structure that made him governor.
