Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali. a former national chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Senator Sulaiman Othman Hunkuyi, candidate of the NNPP in the March 18 governorship election in Kaduna State, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). National chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, received them into the party today.

The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Security in Umunneochi, Abia State, has commended Governor Alex Otti for the positive steps he has taken to restore security and order in the state. The Committee particularly praised Governor Otti for dismantling the kidnapping operations and other criminal activities which had festered at the Lokpanta Cattle Market area of Umunneochi, along the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba Expressway. The Committee led by Hon. Abia State Ministry of Education wishes to inform the general public that Emerald Schools located at Crystal Park Avenue, Off Port Harcourt Road, Aba in Aba South LGA has been sealed and its operational approval withdrawn. This is as a result of the Ministry's findings which showed that the said school was operating below the stipulated standards set for the operation of private schools in the State, a situation which led to the umfortunate death of a pupil. Parents/ guardians whose children/ wards attend the school, are advised to withdraw them without further delay. While the Ministry regrets any Inconvenience this may cause parents, it will continue to shoulder its responsibility of upholding the welfare and safety of Abia children as a top priority. Any illegal attemp by any individual or group to reopen the school will attract the full wrath of the government.  Please be properly guided. A young woman has reportedly d!ed during a s3x r0mp with her boyfriend in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. It was gathered that the incident happened at a guest house situated at Temidire community, Offa Garage area of Ilorin on Monday, October 30, 2023. Members of the community claimed that the man, who owns a barber’s shop, was under the influence of drugs with the aim of impressing his girlfriend before things took a turn for the worse, the Nigerian Tribune reported.  “The girl got tired during the m@ting and later gave up the ghost,” a source told the publication The source said that the man raised the alarm when the lady reportedly became unconscious and thus attracted workers of the guest house.  The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was confirmed d£ad. Appeal Court Upholds Tribunal Ruling, Declares Natasha As The Authentic Winner of Kogi Central Senator Elect The appeal court in Abuja has upheld the judgment of the Kogi state election petition tribunal sacking Senator  as a senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial district of the state. OBSERVERSTIMES reports before now that The election petition tribunal sitting in Lokoja has declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as the winner of the February 25 Kogi Central Senatorial election. Delivering the ruling today on Tuesday the court of appeal  upheld the decision of the tribunal, declaring Natasha Akpoti as the legitimate representative of Kogi Central.  It held that the appeal of Sadiku-Ohere,challenging the judgment of the tribunal lacked merit.
