BREAKING: Court discharges, acquits Nnamdi Kanu of terrorism charge Kanu is being prosecuted by the Federal Government at the Federal High Court in Abuja for 15 count charges bordering, including treasonable felony and terrorism, offences he allegedly committed in the course of his separatist campaigns. A three-man panel of the Court of Appeal said the Federal High Court lacks the jurisdiction to try him in view of his abduction and extraordinary rendition to Nigeria in flagrant violation of the OAU convention and protocol on extradition. The court held that the 15-count charge preferred against Kanu did not disclose the place, date, time and nature of the alleged offences before being unlawfully extradited to Nigeria in clear violation of international treaties. The court further held that Federal Government failed to disclose where Nnamdi Kanu was arrested despite the grave allegations against him

A man who was locked up inside a room for twenty years has been discovered by environmental officers in Kaduna state. According to the Nigerian Tribune, the officers found the man in a house in Benin street, in the central part of Kaduna metropolis on Wednesday, October 12.  Their spokesman, who pleaded for anonymity, said they were shocked at the discovery.  "Today we came to this house in search of beverages that were usually kept in residential houses without proper storage facilities when we saw a naked man locked up in a room," he said.  "We found that he was in an uncomfortable position. The odour coming out from the room was unbearable. "Later, we broke the room and brought him out. He was behaving like an animal. It was then we learnt that he was kept in the room for twenty years. Gunmen kill policemen in Enugu, set station ablaze. Two policemen were reportedly killed by gunmen who attacked the Inyi Police Division in Oji-River Local Government Area of Enugu State. The gunmen also set the station ablaze and carted away guns and ammunition. It was gathered that the attack occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning at Arum Inyi Police Division. According to PUNCH, a resident of the Arum Inyi, who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “Actually, I left the community on Saturday for Enugu, but I got information from my community a few hours ago that gunmen attacked the police station in my town, and that they killed one police officer.
