President Buhari presents N20.51trn 2023 budget proposal to NASS President Muhammadu Buhari presented the proposed N20.51 trillion budget for the 2023 financial year to a joint session of the National Assembly today October 7. The N20.51 trillion budget which was presented by the president is the last he will present before his tenure elapses. According to the president, this 8th budget is tagged the budget of Fiscal Sustainability and transition. While addressing the lawmakers, the president said the 2023 transition budget was designed to address critical issues and lay a solid foundation for the incoming administration. The president said he believes that based on these fiscal assumptions and parameters, total federally-collectible revenue is estimated at 16.87 trillion Naira in 2023. BREAKING NEWS: APPELLATE COURT GRANTS CONDITIONAL LEAVE TO ASUU TO APPEAL NIC ORDER  The court of appeal has granted the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, conditional leave to appeal the ruling of the National Industrial Court of 21st September ordering lecturers to end the strike and go back to the classroom  Justice Hamma Barka who lead the three-man panel granted leave on the condition that ASUU must obey the order of the interlocutory injunction by the lower court immediately. Justice Biobele Georgewill a member of the panel also ordered that the leave granted can only stand if ASUU obeys the interlocutory order of the lower court. Justice Georgewill also states that in a situation where the orders of the lower court aren't obeyed, the court will withdraw the leave granted ASUU to appeal the interlocutory injunction orders by the NIC. ASUU has been given 7 days to file its appeal and immediately obey the orders of the lower court.

Ogun monarch  allegedly blinds trader for dancing with queen A trader, Wasiu Oduwole, has demanded justice after a traditional ruler, Nureni Oduwaye, allegedly kicked his eye at the Moore Blessing Hotel, Ikenne, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State. The victim claimed he could no longer see with the eye. PUNCH Metro gathered that Oduwaye perpetrated the act after allegedly accusing Wasiu of dancing with his queen during a birthday celebration at the hotel.
