​ IPOB declares Imo Ebubeagu commander want ed The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared Commander of Ebubeagu security outfit in Imo State, Izuchukwu Akuegbulanwa, wanted over alleged killing of 14 wedding guests in Awo-Omamma, Oru East Local Government Area. The group also said N20m bounty awaits anyone with useful information that could lead to tracking him. EFCC Arrests  18 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 18 suspected internet fraudsters in Abuja. The suspects are: Innocent Samson, Obiora Eze, Ifeanyi Joseph, Isdore Chinedu, Badaki Linus, Ameh Nick, Kelvin Chima, Akwa Iwu Promise Ifeanyi, Adekunle Samuel. Others are: Abutu John, Testimony Mathiew, Omale Mary Ochanya (female), Afarm Darlington Edwin, Henry John, Urochukwu Abel, Ogieto Gift, Innocent Gideon, Ojimini Maduemyi Raymond, Mathiew Timothy, and Kingsley Chukwuemeka. They were arrested on July 19, 2022 at Army Estate Phase Five, Kurudu, Abuja, following intelligence reports received by the Commission about their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud. Items recovered from the suspects include three cars: a Lexus RX 350, Lexus ES 350 and Peugeot 306, a motor bike, six laptop computers, and mobile phones.

$700 Scam: Court Remands Gospel Light in Prison Justice S. I. Mark of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has ordered the remand of an internet fraud suspect, Nwosu Gospel Light, in the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre, pending the determination of his bail application. Light on Wednesday July 20, 2022 pleaded not guilty to a two count charge impersonation and obtaining money by false pretense brought against him by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the EFCC.

    God win Emefiele,  CBN vows to arrest any Nigerian buying dollars with Naira The Central Bank of Nigeria has vowed to arrest and prosecute Nigerians using naira to buy dollars. “For those taking money from banks to buy dollars, it is illegal to do so. If the security agencies hold you, you will know the implication of that,” Godwin Emefiele, CBN governor, said Tuesday at the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting in Lagos. Reading the riot act to bank customers, Mr Emefiele urged Nigerians illegally exchanging naira for dollar to stop, adding that the apex bank would conduct investigations and bar those found culpable from conducting transactions in Nigerian banks.      NNPC increases pump price of petrol to N179 per litre The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has approved an upward review in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N165 per litre to N179 per litre, effective Tuesday, July 19. NNPC in a notice to fuel marketers directed them to change the petrol price on pumps to the new price effective today. This was even as the company equally increased the ex-depot price from N148.17 to N167 per litre. This came after weeks of petrol scarcity resurfaced across the country as fuel retailers were adopting different price bands to force unofficial deregulation attempts. Already, majority of filling stations in Lagos have adopted different price models.
