Tension and controversy have trailed an incident involving Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who reportedly broke down in tears at a Nigerian airport after her international passport was seized by airport authorities.
In a viral video circulating online, the Kogi Central Senator could be seen visibly emotional as she narrated how her travel documents were withheld without clear explanation. Senator Natasha alleged that the order to seize her passport came directly from Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
"They said it was an instruction from the Senate President, Akpabio. I don’t know why. I have not done anything wrong. I was only on my way out of the country,” she lamented, her voice breaking in frustration."
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where the senator was preparing to board an international flight. Eyewitnesses say Natasha was stopped by immigration officials and asked to wait while her passport was taken away for “further instructions.”

The situation has sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians demanding clarity from both the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Critics argue that if the allegation against Akpabio is true, it raises serious questions about abuse of power and political intimidation.
Senator Natasha, known for her bold stance on transparency, women’s empowerment, and good governance, said she felt humiliated and targeted for political reasons.
As of the time of this report, neither Senate President Godswill Akpabio nor the airport authorities have officially responded to the allegations. Efforts to reach their spokespersons for comment were unsuccessful.
Visblog News continues to monitor the development and will provide updates as more details emerge.
