In the spirit of Christmas and goodwill, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, on Tuesday distributed over 2,000 bags of 25-kilogramme rice to constituents across the district.
The distribution exercise covered the five local government areas that make up Kogi Central, as part of the senator’s annual humanitarian outreach aimed at easing the economic burden on families during the festive season.
Speaking during the exercise, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan described the gesture as a demonstration of love, unity, and shared responsibility, noting that Christmas is a time to care for one another, especially the less privileged.
“Christmas reminds us of compassion, sacrifice, and togetherness. This outreach is my little way of standing with my people and ensuring that families can celebrate the season with joy and dignity,” she said.
Beneficiaries of the rice distribution included community leaders, women groups, youths, the elderly, and vulnerable households. Many recipients expressed gratitude to the senator, praising her for remaining connected to the grassroots and consistently supporting her constituents beyond legislative duties.
Community leaders across the district commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful amid prevailing economic challenges, while urging residents to continue to support peaceful coexistence and development.
The Christmas outreach is part of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s broader commitment to social welfare, inclusive governance, and people-oriented representation in Kogi Central.
