Drama broke out in Sagamu, Ogun State, after popular Nigerian street DJ, DJ Chicken, was beaten by angry youths for allegedly knocking down an okada rider carrying a woman.
A viral video now making rounds on X (formerly Twitter) shows the moment the controversial DJ was surrounded and confronted by street boys. In the clip, they ordered him to sit on the ground — but when he initially refused, one of them slapped him hard, forcing him to comply.
According to online reports, the incident happened after DJ Chicken’s car allegedly rammed into a motorcycle, leaving both the rider and his female passenger injured.
A social media influencer, Oyindamola, who shared the footage, claimed the DJ was later seen helping the injured woman to stand, while the condition of the rider remained unknown.
The incident has sparked massive reactions online, with fans divided.
While some condemned the mob action, others insisted DJ Chicken was reckless and deserved the treatment he got.
This isn’t the first time DJ Chicken is making headlines for controversy. Just days ago, he stirred backlash after making disrespectful comments about Davido and his wife, Chioma, saying he would “chase Chioma” if anything ever happened to the singer.
The DJ, known for his outspoken and dramatic lifestyle, has also clashed with other celebrities like Wizkid and Portable, earning him a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most controversial entertainers.
As at the time of this report, DJ Chicken has yet to comment on the Sagamu incident — but the video continues to trend across social media, with users dropping heated reactions under the hashtag DJ Chicken beaten
A user wrote: Nigerians naturally hates successful people. The fact that he acknowledged and trying to take them to the hospital already. The irate mob saw it was chicken and decided to flex their muscle on him.
