Tragic End for Delta Site Engineer Killed by His Own Workers Over Bank Account Balance

What should have been an ordinary workday turned into a horrific crime as Chigozie Udalor, a hardworking site engineer, met a tragic end at the hands of those he trusted—his own employees.

Udalor, who managed a fish pond in Bod Camp, Akwukwu Igbo community, Delta State, was reported missing by his cousin, Hyacinth Nnalue, on December 10, 2024. Days turned into months without answers, leaving his family in distress. Then, in a chilling twist, police uncovered the dark truth behind his disappearance.

On March 31, 2025, officers arrested David Tacho and Daniel Orshio, one of whom was caught trying to withdraw money from Udalor’s Moniepoint account using his phone. As investigators dug deeper, a gruesome conspiracy unfolded—Udalor’s own workers had allegedly plotted to kill him after discovering he had a large sum of money in his account.

According to police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe, the suspects—Tacho, Orshio, and two others still at large, Pius Daniel and Victor Tacho—attacked Udalor, striking him on the head with a hammer before tying him up and burying him in a shallow grave at the site. His body has since been exhumed for an autopsy, while authorities intensify efforts to track down the remaining suspects.

For Udalor’s family, the pain of losing him is immeasurable—not just because of the brutal way he was taken from them, but because those responsible were people he had given opportunities to.

The police are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Pius Daniel and Victor Tacho to come forward and help bring justice for Udalor
