"Urgent Need to Avert Imminent Ecological Disaster on Residents of Trademore Estate, Lugbe, Abuja".

Yesterday, the Honourable Member representing Ikot Ekpene/Essien Udim/Obot Akara Federal Constituency, Dr. Patrick Umoh , laid two petitions on the floor of the House of Representatives on behalf of Umeh Kalu, SAN, and retired ASP Etim Udoh Nsot.

The first petition, titled "Urgent Need to Avert Imminent Ecological Disaster on Residents of TradeMore Estate, Lugbe, Abuja," by Umeh Kalu, SAN, called on the House of Representatives to direct the Ecological Project Office and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) to expand the three-cell tunnel bridge in front of Trademore Estate to an eight-cell tunnel bridge. This expansion is necessary to allow for the free flow of water from Garki, Pyakasa, Aleita Dam, and other areas through Trademore Estate.

The second petition, titled "Petition against the Discontinuation of Pension Payment," by retired ASP Etim Udoh Nsot, requested the intervention of the House of Representatives to address the discontinuation of his pension payments by the Nigerian Police Pensions Limited, which have been halted for almost a year.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who presided over the plenary session, referred these petitions to the Committee on Public Petitions.
