Wizkid Becomes First African Artiste To Hit 1 Billion UK Streams.


 Award winning afro-beat singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, 33, becomes the first African artiste to hit 1 billion UK streams. For that feat, he has been awarded the Brit billion plaque to mark this milestone.

Wizkid's addition to his inventory is one more star, to his numerous stars. He has won a Grammy for Best music video as a lead artiste in Beyoncé's "Brown Skin Girl". He is the most awarded African singer in the, "BET, Soul Train, Billboard, iHeart Radio Music awards. 

He has released so many albums; featured in songs, both internationally and within the country. Besides this recent plaque, he was awarded an ASCAP plaque for his song writing contributions to Drake's music "One Dance". 

Recently, the star sold out and performed in London's Tottenham Stadium with over 60,000 fans in attendance. The Nigerian artiste is making waves for himself and the afro-beat industry. 

He was congratulated by Davido on his IG story, he wrote: "Congratulations king @wizkidayo you are forever a legend. Hope to be like you someday ♥️♥️
