Nollywood has lost one of its veteran actresses, Cynthia Nkiru Okereke, who died on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in her sleep.
The cause of her death is still unknown, although there has been reports that she was briefly ill. She was reported dead by a colleague of hers, Joseph Okechukwu on his twitter handle.
Reacting to this incident, the presidential candidate of LP, Mr Peter Obi wrote on his twitter page;
"The news of the death of Cynthia Okereke, a veteran Nollywood actress, is a very sad one. She was a very popular face in Nigerian movies for decades, and she admirably played her different movie roles to the pleasure of many".
"I condole with her family and friends who are most affected by her death, and also the Actors Guild of Nigeria, over her irreplaceable loss. May God who called her home at this time grant her eternal rest." He further added.
