Nigeria’s Super Falcons Thursday defeated 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-host, Australia’s Matildas 3-2.
Goals from Oshoala, Ohale and Kanu were enough to help the Super Falcons earn their first victory.
The Super Falcons are the only African team to have avoided defeat having won against Australia and drew 0-0 to Canada.
Nigeria’s victory has placed the West African team in first place of Group B and must avoid defeat in their final game against Ireland to ensure qualification to the knockout round.
