​ 74 Internet Fraud Suspects Arrested in Port Harcourt Operatives of the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested Seventy Four (74) suspected internet fraudsters. They were picked up in the early hours of Thursday, July 21, 2022, at various locations in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. However, of the number, Forty Eight (48) had incriminating items in their possession. The suspects are: Promise Sunday, Ukala Goldman, Isaac Golden, Peter Ikechukwu, Bankole Olamide, John Chiemela, Thomas Martins, Dr Victor, Emmanuel Owuma, Emmanuel Sekun, Philip Abaku, Emmanuel Egwuanumku, Thompson Charles Lekia, Ken Anelele Marvel, Kelechi Prince, Ugochukwu Ukaigwe, Ake John, Victor Madu, Moses Jubril Akrah, Jonathan Jeffery, Noble Lot, Success Umukoro, Precious Michael and Christabel Enoch. Alleged N109bn Fraud: Court Remands Ex-AGF Idris in Prison Justice A. O. Adeyemi Ajayi of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama Abuja, remanded the suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris and his co-defendants: Godfrey Olusegun Akindele, Mohammed Kudu Usman in Kuje Correctional Centre pending the determination of their bail applications. The trio were arraigned alongside a company, Gezawa Commodity Market and Exchange Limited, on a 14-count charge bordering on gratification, abuse of office and money laundering to the tune of over N109 billion fraud.

​ JAMB announces 140 as cut-off mark for University admission The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, and heads of tertiary education institutions in the country have pegged the minimum cut-off mark for admissions in the 2022/2023 academic session. The minimum cut-off marks for universities were pegged at 140, polytechnics at 100, and colleges of education at 100. This was made known at the ongoing Policy Meeting on Admissions presided by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, in Abuja. JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, who announced the cut-off marks said the implication is that every institution now has the right to fix its own cut-off mark even up to 220 but no one would be allowed to go less than the agreed minimum marks of 100 for colleges of education, 100 for polytechnics and 140 for universities. The meeting also called for the review of admission criteria to give 10 percent discretional power of admission to heads of tertiary institutions.
