We Are Returning Power to the People” — PDP Chairman Turaki Declares After Meeting Obasanjo
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring power to party members and the Nigerian people through transparent and inclusive decision-making processes.
Turaki made the declaration while addressing party members and supporters at the PDP State Secretariat shortly after returning from a courtesy visit to former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo
According to the PDP Chairman, the party is firmly positioned to reclaim its dominant role in Nigeria’s political landscape, beginning with the 2026 governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States. He also expressed confidence that the party would extend its victories to Ogun State, citing renewed unity and strong grassroots mobilization across the South-West.
“Let me assure all our members and the good people of the South-West: we will win Ekiti, we will win Osun, and we are notstopping there. By the special grace of God and the unwavering support of our people, we will take over Ogun State,” Turaki said.
He described his meeting with former President Obasanjo as fruitful, noting that the elder statesman’s counsel has further strengthened the party’s resolve and sharpened its strategic direction ahead of upcoming elections.
Turaki emphasized that the PDP’s South-West agenda is anchored on responsible governance, economic revitalization, and the delivery of tangible democratic dividends, which he argued have been lacking under the current administration.
