Popular Nigerian billionaire, nightlife entrepreneur and Chairman of the Cubana Group, Obi Iyiegbu, widely known as Obi Cubana, has revealed that he intends to retire from active business before clocking 60.
The influential businessman explained that he has spent years building a strong business empire, and the next decade will be dedicated to mentoring his children to become self-reliant and future leaders.
Speaking about his retirement goals, Cubana said his dream is to travel the world and enjoy life with his wife after decades of hard work and commitment to business.
“By the time I turn 60, I’ll be done. I want to travel the world and give my wife the best experience life can offer. The idea now is to make sure my kids come up and become independent to live for the rest of their lives. No more work,” he stated.
Obi Cubana is known for his heavy influence in Nigeria’s entertainment and hospitality industry. His business portfolio includes luxury nightclubs, high-end restaurants, hotels, real estate ventures, and premium lifestyle brands under the Cubana Group.
His success story gained massive attention in 2021 during his late mother’s lavish burial in Oba, Anambra State, which went viral and sparked nationwide conversations about wealth, generosity and influence.
Cubana also plays a prominent role in youth empowerment and entrepreneurship, often supporting startups, SMEs and young talents in Nigeria.
With his retirement plans set, the billionaire says he hopes to enjoy the fruits of his labor early and redefine what retirement means for African entrepreneurs.
As one of Nigeria’s most recognizable business figures, his upcoming transition signals a new chapter focused on global luxury travel, family bonding and legacy building.
