Interesting facts about Manchester United's new goalie.

 

Manchester United, in the UK, is regarded as one of the biggest English clubs if not the biggest.

Over the years, a lot of amazing football players have represented the club and its amazing colors – from Eric Cantona, Bob Charlton, David Beckham, the great Cristiano Ronaldo down to Marcus Rashford (the club's most in-form star today).

With all these players listed, they have also had world class goalies; Peter Schmeichel, Edwin van der Sar, David DeGea.

The most current addition to the squad, André Onana was arguably the best goalie in the last European Champions league competition. He is been staked to do amazing at United; and we can only hope it happens.

Here are some interesting facts about André Onana:

• Onana is Cameroonian. He was born on April 2, 1996 (He is currently 27 years old)

• He has a body weight of about 93kg and a height of 1.90m (6 feet 2.803 inches)

• Onana was spotted playing on the streets of Cameroon's capital city, Yaounde by a member of the Samuel Eto'o Foundation -- the charity set up by the country's all-time top scorer and former Barcelona and Inter Milan forward. 

• He was signed by Barcelona at the age of 14 and played  in the La Masia youth academy.

• He was signed to Ajax in the 2016-2017 season where he made his debut in senior football.

• He made 214 appearances in Ajax winning 3 Eredivise titles and two Dutch cups. In 2019, he guided Ajax to the semi-final of the Champions league.

• In 2021, he was banned temporarily from playing football after he was found guilty of doping.

• In the summer of 2022, he signed for Inter Milan on a free transfer after refusing to extend his Ajax contract.

• He preferred playing feet is his right leg.
