The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA ,has removed shanties and illegal structures in Katampe.

During the exercise, a woman who happened to be one of the affected persons bite One of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), officer in the taskforce team .

The tussle occurred when the officers attempted to pin her down from taking aggressive action.
The officer who bled profusely after she was bitten was immediately rushed to the hospital, while the woman in question was arrested and taken to Gwarinpa Police station.

The Senior Special Assistant to FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Comrade Ikharo Attah said the offender has been handed over to the Police for further action.

"Attack on the taskforce is normal in our operation. The security lady that was bitten by the other woman was very civil, and another woman bite her in the process of doing her job, but we will leave the Police to do their job. She has already been handed over to the Police.

We are addressing some security issues around the high brow Katampe extension district. What we are seeing in this high brow area is the issue of extreme criminality occasion by the people in this area" Attah said.

On his part, Kaka Bello, the Assistant Director, Enforcement, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) also described the trend of attacking personnel on enforcement as worrisome.
