Divorce rate in our society is disturbing — Falana. My wife is a serial adulterer, divorce-seeking man tells court. The Bishop of Ifako Diocese, African Church, Rt Rev. Isaac Akin Falana, has raised alarm over the high divorce rate across the country, suggesting measures to address the problem. Falana called for urgent measures to nip the development in the bud. He expressed worry over the high divorce rate among couples, especially those married in churches and mosques, noting that considering divorce as the best solution to minor disagreements is wrong. Falana urged couples to settle disagreements through dialogue and endurance, stating that no marriage is perfect. He emphasized the need for couples to understand each other, ensure unity, and show tolerance. Falana also stressed the importance of prayer in resolving marital issues.

GOV ALIA CONDOLES GOV. NAMADI OVER DEATH OF MOTHER, SON

Governor Hyacinth Alia, sends his heartfelt condolences to his colleague and Jigawa State Governor, HE Umar Namadi, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi, and his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi.  Governor Namadi had lost his mother in the early hours of Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, and barely 24 hours later, his son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, was involved in a fatal car accident, which claimed his life.  Governor Alia who received the news of the double tragedy, describes it as a painful moment for not just the immediate family of Governor Namadi, but the entire people of Jigawa State and Nigeria as a whole. He urges his colleague to take solace in the fact that it is God who giveth and God who taketh away.  While he prays to God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the painful demise of Hajiya Maryam and Abdulwahab Umar, the Governor equally prays to God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
