A Deputy Commissioner of Police attached to the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (FCIID), Gbolahan Olugbemi has allegedly committed suicide in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. The body of the DCP, who had served as an aide to former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala was reportedly discovered in his apartment with noose round his neck hanging. Though, full investigation is yet to be carried out to ascertain the cause of his death, a source told Vanguard that it looks like a suicide. The deceased DCP Gbolahan Olugbemi was said to have come home for the Easter celebration and arrived at his residence at Petros Academy Street, Federal Low cost area with no one accompanying him. The deceased officer whose age is put at 50 plus was the Aide De Camp of late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala during his eleven month tenure from 2006-2007. When Queen Elizabeth II died, Operation London Bridge was activated to facilitate the smooth transition of power to her son, then-Prince Charles. Now, with Prince Charles’ cancer getting worse, royal insiders tell In Touch that Charles’ final resting plans are of timely prioritization.   The plans have been dubbed “Operation Menai Bridge”, named after the world’s first iron suspension bridge in Anglesey, Wales. “It’s a fairly common thing to do among the British royalty, but in Charles’ case expediency is necessary,” says the source, who notes that “some courtiers believe Charles’ cancer is worse than they’re making it out to be.”

In an interview with The Sun, The leader of Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has urged President Bola Tinubu to leave a lasting legacy by spearheading constitutional reforms to prevent Nigeria's breakup. Adebanjo dismissed the idea of Tinubu seeking a second term, attributing the country's current challenges to past military regimes. Senegal's President-elect Bassirou Diomaye Faye was the Secretary General of opposition party, Pastef. The leader of his party, Ousmane Sonko was jailed. He joined the Presidential race and was endorsed by Sonko. Faye was also detained, and was once barred from contesting in the election but was released 10 days to elections.  Faye, 44 (Left) become president after ruling coalition rival Amadou Ba, 62 (Right), concedes defeat.
