A resident said that the incident occurred around 9pm on Thursday, February 1. Peculiar Ginika, the General Overseer and lead pastor of Liberation Word Assembly International in Aba, Abia State, has been arrested by the police for the alleged defilement of a minor. Pastor Ginika has been detained at the command headquarters of the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigeria Police, where he is being questioned. He was arrested last Saturday. The father of the victim had reported to RRS personnel that his daughter was sexually assaulted by the cleric, who was also described as their family pastor. A police source told the Nation that a nurse who reportedly helped the suspect with contraceptive pills and took the blood sample of the victim could also be arrested for questioning. Paying tithes, first fruit, and offering in church simply because you want financial breakthrough is purely commerce, not religion or faith. It is a disservice to God. A Nasarawa housewife whose name was simply given as Doris has alleged that her husband cheated on her with her mother. The Nation reported that the woman said the lid on the secret affair between her 46-year-old husband and her mother was blown open by her six-year-old son.
