Tinubu’s New Year speech is like native doctor’s words of hope to sick man – Shehu Sani

A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has described President Bola Tinubu’s New Year speech as a native doctor’s words of hope to a sick person. Addressing the nation on Monday, Tinubu among other things, announced plans to ensure a constant supply of affordable food to Nigerians. He also announced plans to provide Nigerians with reliable power supply, as well as petroleum products. According to him, his administration is working hard to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians. Reacting to the speech, Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th Assembly, noted that the President did not set any time for any of the promises to take effect. He said, “The President’s speech is good and encouraging. It gives the kind of hope raised by Native Doctors; that you will be delivered from your sickness but no date.”

Police arrest popular Radio Presenter MC Manosky for defiling a 15year Old Boy in Abia.

A Popular On Air Personality Mr Chigozie Anumudu otherwise known as MC Manosky has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command for allegedly def!ling a 15year old Boy in Aba, Abia State. MC Manosky who is not a staff of any radio station but operates as a freelance Journalist in  Radio Stations within Aba was arrested this afternoon 31st December 2023 at his residence following complaints lodged at the Estern Ngwa Police station by the Father of the victim. Policemen Filmed Picking Money At Benin Airport Won't Be Dismissed -FPRO

The Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that officers seen in a viral video picking money on the ground at Benin airport will not be dismissed.  He gave the clarification on Friday after some Nigerians expressed fear that some officers seen in a viral video picking money singer Shallopopi threw into the air at the Benin Airport might be dismissed from service.  He emphasised that while they may receive a lecture on refraining from such actions, it wouldn't lead to dismissal as it is considered a less severe offence.  Reacting to the video on Instagram, Adejobi said, ‘’We won't dismiss a policemen for picking such money, we can only lecture him not to do so again, as such relegates him." 

IMO: A family of eight traveling for the New Year celebration has died in an auto crash at the Amanwozuzu junction in the Ikeduru.

It was gathered that the incident happened about 3 pm on Friday when the father of the family who conveyed his wife and children in a Sienna vehicle ran into a stationary truck carrying an iron rod. Visblog learned that some residents and policemen broke the vehicle to recover the bodies of the family members and deposited their corpses at a morgue. Confirming the incident, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ikeduru LGA, Lucky Ahiole, a Chief Superintendent of Police, noted that the stationary truck was parked at the roadside when the driver of the Sienna vehicle ran into it. The DPO said, “Eight died and we have taken them to a morgue. We had to break the Sienna vehicle to bring out the dead bodies. The rod pierced their eyes and bodies and even the children died.”

Burundi President Calls For Stoning Of Gay Couples

Burundi's President Evariste Ndayishimiye launched a virulent anti-gay tirade on Friday, saying same-sex couples should be publicly stoned. He also lashed out at Western countries that press other nations to allow gay rights or risk losing aid. Homosexuality in Burundi, a conservative Christian country in East Africa, has been criminalised since 2009 with prison terms of up to two years for consensual same-sex acts. Ndayishimiye, a Catholic, described marriage between same-sex couples as an "abominable practice". "Personally, I think if we see these kind of individuals in Burundi we should put them in a stadium and stone them. And it would not be a sin for those who do," Ndayishimiye said in response to a question at a public event in the east of the country that was broadcast by Burundian media.
