Reno Omokri has pleaded with the Nigerian government to legitimise the production of fake products in the country, thereby encouraging the producers to manufacture better and quality products, instead of arresting and jailing them. Reno, who bared his mind via his Twitter (X) handle said: "Whenever regulatory agencies and law enforcement bodies in Nigeria identify and nab counterfeiters, whether of foods and beverages or designer brands, phones, electronics or pharmaceuticals, we should not just send them to jail and throw away the keys. AN Oklahoma judge has exonerated a man who spent 48 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit, the longest known wrongful sentence in the US.   Mr Simmons served 48 years, one month and 18 days in prison for the 1974 murder of Carolyn Sue Rogers during a liquor store robbery in an Oklahoma City suburb.   Mr Simmons was 22 years old when he and a co-defendant, Don Roberts, were convicted and sentenced to death in 1975.

Nigeria may adopt the Chinese Yuan as reserve currency in a bid to stop the Naira depreciation . The Nigerian government is looking to preserve the value of its currency via the adoption of the Chinese Yuan. By making the Yuan an official foreign exchange reserve currency alongside the dollar, the Nigerian government hopes to stop the depreciation of the Naira.  This plan was proposed by the House of Representatives.

The Federal Government on Wednesday said it has slashed the public transport fares for Nigerians by 50 per cent. This was disclosed by the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, during a press conference on the presidential intervention in public transportation to celebrate the yuletide season in Abuja, the state capital.
