GUNMEN ATTACK KOGI RESIDENCE ELECTORAL COMMISSIONER HOUSE. In the early hours of today, Friday 1st December 2023, around 3.30am, gunmen attacked the residence Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) house  in Lokoja, Kogi State. The armed men engaged the security personnel in a gun battle for over 30 minutes until reinforcement arrived.  While no lives were lost, property was destroyed in the ensuing gun battle.  A team of combined security personnel have been deployed to protect the residence.This incident occurred a day after a mob besieged our state office. We call for a thorough investigation and enhanced security protection for our personnel and assets in Kogi State

BREAKING: Pedro Obi From Delta University Emerges NANS President, Defeats Seyi Tinubu’s Preferred Candidate Obi, a Phd student of Guidance and Counseling studies got 212 votes to defeat his closest rival, Lucky Emonefe who scored 83 votes. The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected Comrade Pedro Obi from the Delta State University as its new President.

Governor Umaru Fintiri announces the payment of N10,000 monthly allowance to serving corps members in Adamawa State, beginning from January 2024, to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal on the corps members.  Gov. Fintiri made this known while addressing the 2023 Batch C Stream II corps members currently undergoing their Orientation Course at the NYSC Orientation Camp Damare. The Governor equally directed the immediate supply of 50 bags of rice, 10 bulls as well as 10 kegs of vegetable oil to augment the feeding of the Stream II corps members in order to ensure they have a pleasant and enjoyable camping experience.  The corps members and the NYSC scheme at large is deeply grateful to the NYSC Friendly Governor for this unprecedented generosity. This is no doubt a great motivation to the corps members, and a catalyst for efficient service from the corps members.

This is to show the commitment of our Governor in bringing employment into the State thereby improving standards of living of  the citizens Governor Otti gave the assurance on Tuesday when he received in audience the management of Nigerian Breweries PLC who paid him a business visit. The Governor promised that his administration will do everything possible to support the NBL and other genuine businesses in the state to remain afloat. According to the Governor, his government has reformed the Internally Generated System (IGR) and introduced the Treasury Single Account (TSA) as well as legislated on multiple taxation, all in the bid to enhance ease of doing business in the state.
