UN Job Scam: Kano Court Remands Impostor for $4,661 Fraud The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned one Ahmad Sultan Sardauna before Justice Farouq Lawal of the Kano State Court on a one count charge of impersonation. The defendant posing as brother to a Deputy Secretary General of the United Nation, obtained the sum of $4,661.60 (Four Thousand Six Hundred and Sixty One Dollars, Sixty Cents) from one Mr. Ismail Jama, a Somali, on the pretext of securing a job for him at the United Nations.

NDLEA declares Lagos drug baron wanted, arrests kingpin behind cocaine shipments . ..Seals barons 7 mansions in Lagos, Ibadan; blocks N217million in bank account The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has declared wanted Lagos socialite and owner of Adekaz Hotels, Alhaji Ademola Afolabi Kazeem (a.k.a Alhaji Abdallah Kazeem Muhammed) over offences bordering on exportation and trafficking of illicit drugs as well as money laundering. The decision to declare the suspect wanted followed his failure to honour NDLEA invitations and an order granted the Agency by a Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday 17th October 2022. The wanted drug kingpin was uncovered as the sponsor of some traffickers arrested by the anti-narcotics agency in their recent attempt to export cocaine to Dubai, UAE and other destinations outside Nigeria. Borno State Police Command  arrests housewife, Fatima Abubakar, 25, for allegedly killing her husband, Goni Abbah, with poison. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abdu Umar, who disclosed this to the  News Agency of Nigeria  in Maiduguri, the state capital, said the suspect was arrested on October 19 at Anguwan Doki. Umar said the victim, who was the Chief Imam of the area, had returned from a mosque when the suspect, who was his second wife, allegedly put poison in his food. He explained that as soon as Abbah started eating, he began feeling uncomfortable According to him, the victim was immediately rushed to the State Specialist Hospital where he was given medical attention, but later died. Man Convicted for Possession of Fraudulent Documents in Kano Justice Farouq Lawal of the Kano State High Court has convicted and sentenced one Precious Mesele to two years imprisonment. Mesele was convicted after pleading guilty to a one count charge of possession of fraudulent documents. PRECIOUS MESELE 'M', on or about July, 2022 in Kano, attempted to commit cheating and in such attempt did a certain act towards the commission of the said offence to wit: have in your possession fraudulent documents containing false pretence/romantic scam massages, and he thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 95 of the Penal Code Law. In view of his plea of guilt, the prosecution counsel asked the court to convict the defendant accordingly. Justice Lawal convicted and sentenced Mesele to two years imprisonment or pay a fine of Forty Thousand Naira (N40,000).
